Electronic music festivals in Morocco: the 2026-2027 calendar
Morocco has its own electronic music festivals, in Essaouira, in Marrakech and in the desert, and big festivals that invite electronic acts. Here are the confirmed dates for 2026 and 2027, checked on 26 October 2026 on the organisers’ sites, seen by a DJ from Marrakech.

Seasonal editions in Marrakech, under the name Origins Fest.
Origins Winter 2026: Saturday 26 December 2026 at 7 pm. The venue is revealed later; tickets are on sale.
In 2025 the line-up included Worakls and Tania Vulcano.

Next edition 24 to 26 June 2027
The 27th edition took place from 25 to 27 June 2026 in Essaouira.
The 28th is announced for 24 to 26 June 2027.
The festival is built on encounters: gnaoua maâlems play with jazz, African or electronic artists.
The DJ’s take Not an electronic festival, but the root of electro gnawa: the gnaoua rhythms that house music borrows, played by the maâlems themselves.

Next edition 6 to 10 October 2027
The 10th edition, from 30 September to 4 October 2026: MOGA OFF, free, in venues around the medina, then MOGA IN, ticketed, at Hôtel Le Golf d’Essaouira in Diabat.
2026 headliners: Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, ANOTR.
The 2027 edition is announced for 6 to 10 October; the line-up is not out yet.
The DJ’s take Big-club house and techno by the ocean, with a free part in town to try it before buying a pass.

Last confirmed edition 19 to 27 June 2026
The 21st edition took place from 19 to 27 June 2026, in Rabat and Salé.
On the electronic side: Afrojack and Lost Frequencies in 2025; Tiësto and Major Lazer on the 2026 programme, on the OLM Souissi stage.
The 2027 dates are not announced.
The DJ’s take Huge crowds (3.6 million festival-goers in 2026 according to the organisers), with one or two massive electronic nights per edition. A festival of stars more than a club festival.

Casablanca · Rap, rock and metal, fusion, some electronic music
Last confirmed edition 17 to 20 September 2026, RUC stadium
The 24th edition took place from 17 to 20 September 2026 at the RUC stadium in Casablanca.
The young bands contest has three categories: rap and hip-hop, rock and metal, fusion. No DJ category.
The 2027 dates are not announced.
The DJ’s take Casablanca’s alternative scene for over twenty years. Little electronic music, but it is where the country’s urban music happens.

The 8th edition was scheduled for September 2024 in Marrakech, with Laurent Garnier and Joy Orbison on the line-up.
The organisers announced a break in 2025 and a return in a new format in 2026.
For 2026, third-party sites mention an edition in the Agafay desert in September, with conflicting dates. Nothing confirmed by the organiser as of 26 October 2026.
The DJ’s take The festival that put Marrakech on the house and techno map. Worth following closely, without booking before the organiser announces anything.

Last confirmed edition 29 August to 1 September 2019, Villa Janna
Four editions, from 2016 to 2019, at Villa Janna near Marrakech. No edition found since.
The official site still shows the 2019 edition, with James Holden and Maalem Houssam Guinea.
The DJ’s take A festival that mixed gnaoua and electronic music at the foot of the Atlas. Dormant, but the idea lives on in electro gnawa nights.

Agafay, then the Palmeraie · House
Editions in the Agafay desert then in the Palmeraie of Marrakech, the last one found in 2024, with Solomun.
The official site now announces an edition in Tenerife, none in Morocco.

Is the Gnaoua Festival in Essaouira an electronic festival?
No: it is a festival of gnaoua and world music. It programmes encounters with electronic artists, and its 28th edition is announced for 24 to 26 June 2027.
